Lake Lewisville, Texas is one of the largest lakes in north Texas spanning, 29,000 acres with 233 miles of shoreline. Formerly known as Garza-Little Elm Reservoir, Lewisville Lake is a reservoir in North Texas on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in Denton County. Originally engineered in 1927 as Lake Dallas, the reservoir was expanded in the 1940s and 1950s and renamed Lewisville Lake.
